High Street Residential has acquired a site to construct Newcastle upon Tyne’s tallest building. The 89-metre high structure, located on Rutherford Street off St James’ Boulevard, will be made up of 27 storeys and comprise 162 private rental apartments.

From the top of Hadrian’s Tower residents and members of the public will have the opportunity to access the viewing deck, and take in the 360° views across the city. The off-plan sale of the 54 single, 102 two-bed and 6 three bedroom apartments commenced in September 2017.

These sales have mainly been to overseas investors. Keith McDougall, Operations Director of High Street Residential, said:

“We are delighted to be playing such a vital role in what will be a landmark development in the North East. It represents a £40m investment in Newcastle and is expected to create up to 400 direct and supply chain jobs, through a structured training and employment management plan.”
