Lupa Land acquires prime central Birmingham ‘Kent Street Baths’ site
Planned 406 unit PRS development expected to complete on forward funding and construction contract imminently. Part of site onward sold for separate 98 unit development for private sale
Lupa Land Ltd (“Lupa”), formerly Camborne Land Investments, is pleased to announce that it has, through its joint venture company KSB Birmingham Ltd (“KSB”), acquired the 504 unit, 2.25 acre site known as ‘Kent Street Baths’ bounded by Bromsgrove Street, Gooch Street North, Kent Street and Henstead Street, from the Gooch Estate.
Lupa, through KSB, has at the same time onward sold part of the site, known as Plot 2, to High Street Residential, a subsidiary of The High Street Group of Companies, based in Newcastle upon Tyne. The plot will be developed as a 98 unit block for private sale.
Lupa intends to develop a 406 unit scheme for the PRS sector, including a public courtyard, retail space and a private residents’ hub at the heart of the development. The development will offer a mix of studio to three bedroom apartments in five principal buildings ranging from 6 to 18 storeys.
Final planning permission was granted in June 2018. Lupa is now working towards closing a forward funding round together with a construction contract by the end of August 2018.
The site is expected to be completed in time for the Commonwealth Games.
