Newcastle’s tallest crane has arrived

Newcastle welcomed the tallest crane ever to come to the region. The 127 metre tall monster, which can lift 450 tonnes, arrived on the back of eight large lorries, with a second, smaller crane to help assemble it.

The crane is visible from all points of Newcastle and will be on-site for up to 18 months and be used to construct our landmark project, Hadrian’s Tower on Rutherford Street. The tower will be close to 89 meters and will be Newcastle’s tallest building.

These are exciting times for The High Street Group, especially for our development sector High Street Residential, who have recently acquired three new sites in Birmingham:

  • Holloway Head – 383 units comprising of 1 and 2 bedroom apartments. Total GDV: £121m
  • Kent Street Baths – 98 units comprising of 1 and 2 bedroom apartments. Total GDV: £19m
  • Westminster Works – This scheme comprises of 220 apartments. Total GDV: £50m
